Chocolate Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups Whole Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 3 Large Egg Yolks
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 8oz Semi-sweet Chocolate (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 cup Shaved Chocolate
  • Pre-baked 9

Directions

Step 1 Whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, kosher salt in large saucepan; cook over medium, whisking until thickened, 7 to 8 minutes.
Step 2 Whisk in chopped semi-sweet chocolate and butter and then pour into a pre-baked 9" piecrust.
Step 3 Chill until firm, 4 to 5 hours.
Step 4 Before serving, whip 1 cup heavy cream; top the pie with the whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
